Peter Valentin was born in 1954. He was brought up in the Black Forest region in Germany where he went to school and spent his „wild, chaotic“ though formative teenage years. Influenced by his father, a hard working and focused entrepreneur who built up his own successful family business, Peter Valentin developed a strong interest in modern technology. While studying microelectronics he extended and intensified his knowledge in the field of computer technology and computer aided process controlling. As he went on to finish his studies and enter the business world his daily work and projects would introduce him to material science. Fascinated by the fast development and importance for the quality of modern products he continued to examine diverse materials. In fact, it was a combination of his professional know-how and his private interest in cooking which lead to use of ceramics. First, Peter used ceramics in the processing of technical parts (e.g. micro surgery), but very soon he went on to try and exploit its benefits – like being odourless, nutrition friendly, anti-allergic and dermatologically approved – in the manufacture of commercial parts like ceramic knives.
For over 20 years Peter Valentin and his team have been developing CeraStar Ceramics and the benefits of the ceramic material have proved immensely popular with the customer and the environment.
